Tourisme Montérégie:
Immersive 3D Experience
Digital signage continues to be an excellent tool for creating new experiences and ushering in change. This trend, which is already making a big splash in the retail, entertainment and corporate communications worlds, is now being integrated into tourism industry applications as well.
A new way of greeting visitors to an area of Quebec that is particularly rich in experiences and discoveries of all kinds. The Maison du tourisme de la Montérégie is strategically located only a few minutes away from Montreal, adjacent to Quartier DIX30, a lifestyle destination with a strong nation-wide reputation.
This is the introduction to the 3D video simulation of the future Maison du tourisme de la Montérégie. Designed and developed by Arsenal Media, this immersive experience takes the audience into the heart of the new space dedicated to serving those visiting the Montérégie area. The centre is scheduled to open in September 2010.
The three-minute-long application allows users to discover a "multimedia lounge"-type ambiance where digital signage will play a key role in creating a modern, tourist-friendly approach.
The solution has a wealth of features designed to introduce visitors to some of the area's most fascinating attractions, including 25 digital screens playing video footage and promotional spots, "product experience" kiosks, a lodging/restaurant referral station, a gourmet sampling area and several interactive stations.
LEADING THE WAY IN QUEBEC
"This facility will be capitalizing on what works best in tourism, explains Denys Lavigne, President of Arsenal Media. From both a design and a client approach perspective, the Maison du tourisme de la Montérégie will undoubtedly serve as an example in terms of tourism information facilities and will offer a unique showcase for local companies and specialties."
For this project, Arsenal Media has developed the multimedia framework, including the choice of technologies, their roles and their positioning within the space, as well as the digital content strategy, in line with the goals of the organization. The team will also work on producing multimedia content that will be presented as early as September 2010. The project architects are Lemay Michaud.
